FAQ

Where are you located?

211 Culver Blvd. Suite P Playa Del Rey, CA 90293

I share an office in Playa Del Rey… just steps from the beach, a great Italian restaurant, and a popular coffee shop. Nearby cities include Marina Del Rey, Venice Beach, Playa Vista, Culver City, Westchester, and Santa Monica.

How long are sessions?

Nothing is worse in therapy than feeling rushed by a therapist who is constantly looking at the clock and shuffling through paperwork to signal the end of the session. So, I won’t do that to you!

Our sessions typically last between 45-60 minutes. If my schedule isn’t booked, we can spend extra time together.

Are you a good coach?

No single coach or therapist can be the best for everyone. So, I would say that I’m average to some people and very good for others.

But I am quite good at understanding the people who speak to me… and even better at conveying honest feedback.

I am also skilled at identifying the positive attributes you possess – those that are useful in collaborating on action-oriented plans to make your life better.

I will use my training and expertise to ensure the plan we establish is doable. I will also accountability through practice and being available for you outside of sessions.

What will coaching with you be like?

You will feel welcomed and encouraged. I smile when it is appropriate. I don’t frown much or look discerned. I have a history of making my clients feel at ease and comfortable with talking about themselves and what is ailing them.

I truly believe we have the ability to make changes, even small ones, which can promote positivity. Change can happen, and you don’t have to figure out how to do it alone.

I don’t use a top-down method, where I am the professional and you have to listen to my commands. I believe you are the professional in your life, and I am there to help you master how to feel good about yourself and your capabilities.

Why do you favor collaboration?

Because I know through experience that we all have the capacity and internal gusto to make serious and positive changes – no matter the situation. We can do more than just “deal” or “cope”; we can make a bad time into a prosperous opportunity.

It might not happen overnight; but with the right focus, we can implement concrete steps to address what ails you.

What is your approach?

I am trained in various “techniques,” such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Seeking Safety, Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, Attachment Parenting, Mindful Parenting, addressing Men’s Issues, and Psychodynamic/Emotive approaches.

However, what I incorporate most into my work is problem-solving/solution-oriented (which is another reason I practice as a life coach) in nature. We’ll promote being action-oriented and actually move you forward! This is where the importance of moving and activity comes into play.

Will you be able to help me?

I might! I am confident in my ability to relate to you and, at the least, provide you with a space to speak comfortably without judgment or criticism (unless you are into that kind of thing).

I am non-threatening and a regular person who happens to be extensively trained and experienced as a psychotherapist, now using my expertise to be a Life Coach.

Call me for a consultation to get a feel for my voice, my demeanor and whether I sound like a weirdo (in which case you can just hang-up).

When will I feel better?

You should feel better by the end of our first session.

Remember, I will be directive in highlighting what is GOOD about you.

How long do I have to keep coming to Life Coaching?

Life Coaching relationships can be as short or long as you need. I have successfully promoted change in clients in as little as 4 weeks… and some have stayed with me for over 2 years through their own choosing, of course!

I can’t predict how long we will be working together, but I will give honest feedback as our work together progresses.

Can you help one of my loved ones?

I believe so!

I relate well to teenagers… have gotten them to open-up – especially those who have repeatedly stated, “I’m not going to talk to anybody” or who distrusted other adults.

Adult men who have hired me as their coach have let their guard down and spoken from the heart – putting into words very real emotions and finding ways to feel better!

Parents have commented on how easily I was able to get their child to “open-up.”

Fathers have described their developing a new approach toward their children, which resulted in a new relationship and quality in the home.

Children and their parents have gone past their traumatic experiences to resume their normal lives without the agony of the past looming heavy.

Will you tell me how “crazy” I am?

Only if you need me to!

What should I do now?

You took the first huge step in confirming that a change needs to be made.

The next step is to call and set up a free 20-minute phone consultation to put things in a forward motion: (657) 345-4681
